Beauty and the Beard

What ever happened to those fabulous glamour shots that were so popular in the 80's? Do you miss 'em as much as I do? Then you'll be glad to know they've been recycled (and look better than ever) as Glamour Beards! And aren't they fetching?

GAMSMAG STYLE

No, I didn't say GANGNAM, I said GAMSMAG...a lookbook of inspiration and ideas compiled by yours truly from sources such as PINTEREST, TUMBLR & FLICKR...the three internet sites that are like friends to me now...and since I'm entirely bored with FB, I'm back to needing all the friends I can get!

Frankly, I feel you can get a lot more deep, personal information about someone from their PINTEREST page than FB...for instance, what colors they like, the clothes they like to wear, people they admire, and whatever else interests them...all in popular visual format, and so much more civilized than a bunch of selfies and embarrassing photobombs!

Speaking of PINTEREST, I have since created several more boards than I reported previously...all the links are listed to the right of this page!! Whether you love color or black & white, vintage or visionary, you'll enjoy a daily dose of EYE CANDY with fabulous flavors like mint, mango, pistachio, coconut, chocolate, cherry, vanilla and strawberry...with sprinkles of art, burlesque, fashion, fun, design, decor and dreams! Enjoy... and share with your friends! Mwahhh!

Galore Style

Darlings...let your fingers do the walking to my new PINTEREST page! I've created two boards so far...one called GALORE STYLE, featuring all kinds of glamorous goodies in my favorite color! The other is called BEE AND DUB and it features more fabulous things in a neutral palette. I hope you enjoy them...and have fun re-pinning! XOXO

Goldie Gown

My fanatical thrift-shopping friend, Babe of Belltown, is forever gifting me with fabulous finds from his fashion forays! He's given me some great stuff over the years....like my silver leather trench coat, for instance...he knows The Gams goes for The Glitz! So, true to form, Babe recently presented me with the most golden Golden Gown I've ever gawked at...incredibly, a vintage Jessica McClintock Gunne Sax creation! I've named her Goldie...because she practically insisted!

Photos don't do her justice...she's really got to be seen to be believed! I like to think of her as sort of a mullet of a gown...respectable, simple lines up front...party in the back!!

So here's the front...she's strapless, floor length and, miraculously, just the right length as well!

Just look at the fabulous sequining!

Ok, now take a peek at the back!

Not only is there this fabulous bow closure that hides the zipper...

...but a fuckin' bustle!  I've lifted her skirt here so you can see the amount of tulle going on underneath!

And, of course...the label!

It says 5-6 but she's kidding...she's more of a 1-2...which is probably why she was orphaned in the first place. I can barely squeeze into her, and I usually swim in a 5-6...vintage sizing can be confusing. In any case, Goldie and I will be sharing the stage tonight during my vocal performance at ROCK-A-RAISE!

Thanks, Babe! Mwwwahhhhh!

Glamorous Beast

That's quite enough of that pop shit...how about just as glamorous but much more cerebral...?? Here's a Manic Expressionism portrait of my fabulous friend Cherry Sur Bete, created by another fabulous friend, Joriah Goad.
Feel the glamour!!!

Joriah's latest project: The Life Infinato, features your pal Gams, among over 50 other divine beings......

The completed project will soon be released, but in the meantime, here's the trailer, which will give you an idea of his vision. And keep your eye peeled for my visage...from another time...in another place...

Pretty Glamdamerous!

Holy shit! How did I ever miss this???

Beauty Is A Bitch

Wot the fok? This makes three posts today...let's just say I'm making up for lost time, darlings! But...but...I couldn't wait another minute to post this! My pal Tarot Tamara just sent me this link and suh-wears the resemblance between me and Constance Bennett is uncanny...well, I don't know...but I can relate to her frankly fuckin' sassy attitude...what a bitch, huh?? Ya gotta luvver! In any case, I was terriblehhh inspired by this beauty ritual of hers...it's not about dainty and lovely...it's always about the stimulation, isn't it, girls? I think I just found Number 10...watch and learn, bitches. XO

Lounge Liz

What's every fashionable lounge lizard wearing this season? Why, green satin animal print, of course...in this case, trimmed with cuddly black pompoms!

This is my signature off-the-shoulder glamorous gown, gone green for Saint Patty's Day...and for corn sake, a matchin' wee tam!

Liz the Lounge Lizard can't get over the psychedelic variations of green in this fabric! It's a semi-stretchy polyester that was a dream to work with, despite it's slippery side...

Yesssss...it fits like a second skin! Aren't you just green with envy?

I'm guessin' this green gown is gonna be perfect for the shenanigans I'll be up to next Saturday night at Mitzy's Ditzy Glitzy Variety Show...Erin-Go-Braless!...a part of Seattle's Open Circle Theatre Late Nites program, where I'll be performing my version of that old Irish favorite, Tipsy....hic!

I'm a Barbie Girl

These were the Barbies I remember playing with as a child in the early sixties...

Three dollars...with clothes and accessories under five dollars! Well, well...I must say, girlfriend has certainly come up in the world! By now she's certainly forgotten her sordid past as a sex doll...today's Barbie collector will pay a pretty penny for some serious Barbie bling! You can, too!

Is $50 too much to pay for Evening Splendor? Here's the reproduction of that classic ensemble...only $49.98!

For $10 more you can have your own, lifesize classic golden clutch...it's Sealed with a Golden Kiss!...for only $60!

If you lay awake nights wondering what to do with that extra cash you have laying around, and whether a studded pink leather jacket is a good investment...your problem is solved! This limited edition of Night Out will remind you of all your foolish choices...fashionable and monetary! Best of all, darling, it's only $5,000!

Fact is, I've always been crazy about that black-and-white strapless top...a bonafide Barbie classic! So, when I found that I could have one of my very own, studded with rhinestones, no less...it began a thought process: I suppose I could cash in that inheritance from my grandma...the fact that she worked her entire life to save it is irrelevant. This is fucking couture, okay? $10,000 is nothing.

Or, for a little less cash, I could really fall for this Locks of Light chandelier! Honestly, I can't imagine hanging it over my dining table (as I'd imagine hairs falling into my tuna casserole)...but I can imagine it in my boudoir as a symbol of my blonde ambition. Imagine...only $9,000!

One more selection from The Blonde Collection...serious bling in the shape of a ring...are you Blonded By the Light? You should at least see stars for $12,500!

Here's the ultimate gift: Foosbarbie! Ya know, the good thing about Barbies is that they just keep on smilin'...despite bad hair days...despite being stripped naked and forced into contorted positions and poor fashion decisions...despite the fact they've had their arms amputated and been skewered like shrimps on the Barbie for your foosball enjoyment. $25,000. I'd love to get this for my pal Babe of Belltown, but now I've spent all my money on The Blonde Collection!

Fashion Confeshions

Okay, okay...I confesh I know how to spell 'confessions' correctly...but what fun would that be for a punster like moi? Now...if I may direct your attention to the fassionable side of the street...I was happy to find that the fabulous Stella Rose Saint Clair...artiste, singer, burlesque performer, female drag queen and Seattle street style celeb...has moved her blog just a few doors down from mine!

Blonde Ambition

They say blondes have more fun. I'm not sure that's always the case (look at Martha Stewart)..but, I do know that I always have more fun when I'm having fun in my big bad blonde wig! Take for instance this last Sunday night at the 5th Annual Belltown Pageant! Gettaloada me, your pal Gams, posing with contestants Anita Goodmann, Lana Lure and oh! so perfectly perfect Missss California! Now there's some blonde ambition for ya!

Looks like there was a run on peroxide...

And nothing says "ambition" like volunteering to be a fluffer...here's a snap of me and contestant, Charlie Savage Monroe, doing some pre-pageant preparations. Isn't this a great pic? Actually, we did some mutual fluffing that night...he did my hair and I did his merkins...front and rear!

I'm proud to say, my friends, that I walked away with the Second Prize Trophy again this year! Along with last year's silver stunner, they make quite a statement on the back of my royal throne.

I'm sure you're just dying to see all the pageant excitement, so I've put together a little slideshow of the contestants and their performances. Unfortunately, the camera ran outta juice halfway through the show, so you won't see the outcome here...but I understand that this night of music, merkins and madness was filmed, so I promise to post it as soon as I can. Meanwhile, please enjoy these highlights and see if you can guess who won the coveted First Place titles of Mr. Belltown and Belltown Betty 2010!

Night on the Town

Okay! So I promised you an exciting post, didn't I? Saturday night I attended a reception, silent auction and screening of Wes Hurley's biopic, Waxie Moon! This special event was a fundraiser for QTET, a theatrical group for LGBT teens. I hadn't had a chance to see the film before and I love a good cause...plus, I knew that following the movie there would be a chance to be an extra in Wes and Waxie's upcoming full-length feature! I was expecting an occasion, so natch, I wore my glamorous gown...and of course Waxie was there in glittering finery...s-he simply oozes glamour, doesn't s-he?

As promised, after the screening, everyone gathered outside and we filmed a segment of Waxie Moon in Fallen Jewel! I managed to snap a picture of Wes, here with one of the "bodyguards" that played in the scene.

Good thing I can almost always find someone in a crowd to take a silly smooch shot with...even a perfect stranger! I think this perfect stranger said her name was Trixie...I can't quite remember...anyway, if not, it should be Trixie because that would be a perfect name for such a fun gal!

Wes directed us to form a crowd of fans outside the theatre, where we were to bombard Waxie and his bodyguards with snapping cameras and obnoxious screaming! I was tickled pink when my galpal Natasha Lady Krishna showed up...just in time to take part in the filming fun and meet Waxie...which tickled her pink! (What does that mean, anyway? Is it possible to be tickled any color other than pink?)

It was a pleasant, warm summer evening, so we hung around outside a bit, looking glamorous...me in my silver gown, shoes and gloves, and Lady Krishna in her outrageous hat, couture jacket and combat boots!

While wandering about the neighborhood, we were lucky enough to run into several of the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence hanging around outside the Lobby Bar where they were doing their annual fundraiser/giveaway...they're always exciting to see...larger than life! We chatted with them a few minutes, but I'm just so mad at myself...I guess I was so dazzled by their fabulosity that I totally spaced on taking any pics. Anyway, here's a good one someone else took once...

All in all, a very fun and colorful night with some of the fun and colorful people in fun and colorful Seattle!

Dear Sir...

Whaddaya say we skip the Sunday sermon today, slip back into our slippers, sip a satisfying second cup of coffee, settle back and enjoy sultry songstress Joi Lansing singing seductively while sporting a selection of scanty sixties swimsuits! Relax! It's The Silencer!

Ooh LaLa! La Femme

Now here's what every glamorous gal needs...especially me...a pink and pretty 1955 Dodge La Femme! Alas, I was born too late, because now they are extremely rare...but I'm telling you, one of these days when I'm filthy fucking rich, I'm going to hunt one down...I just know we'd be best friends...we're about the same age, we're both entirely glamorous and we both love pink rosebuds!

Imagine...a two-tone Heather Rose color scheme....upholstery with pink rosebuds on a pale pink background, pale pink vinyl trim, and some fabulous standard equipment: stowed in a special compartment built into the back of the passenger seat was a purse that matched the interior, containing a compact, lipstick, cigarette case, lighter and change purse! I guess some executive at Dodge (or some executive's wife) figured you could discreetly climb into the back seat and freshen your makeup after your exhausting drive! Wait a minute...are you telling me that ladies in the 50's didn't do their makeup while driving, like they do now?? Sheesh! During rush hour I can do my makeup, nails and hair, smoke a cig and knit a sweater while talking on the phone...and still have plenty of time for some good old-fashioned road rage.

Oh, and because La Femme was designed with Her Majesty in mind, it also came standard with an umbrella, raincoat and rain bonnet in the same charming rosebud pattern as the interior. I don't know about you, but I never leave the house without my rain bonnet, so that must have been a real bonus!

Now for the first time anywhere, a car glamorously, Personally Yours
! Don't I wish!
