DIY Gams

Darlings, I've been having tons of fun creating my own free Do-It-Yourself GAMS GALORE website via SnackWebsites! Take a look and see how cute it's turning out!

I wasn't sure who to go with on this, but I like the name Snack and I like their low profile. It was easy for a tech-challenged gal like me to figure out, and they seem to have everything the competition has to offer, with a lot less junk in my mailbox, too. Just sayin'. I have no ties to these guys...this is only a gratuitous plug.

The background pics I used on my site were taken by Seattle photographer David Wulzen at Seattle's Open Circle Theatre...aren't they great? I do believe I was singing one of my favorite sentimental love songs..."Did You Just Cut a Fart?" You can really feel the emotion in this photo, can't you??

You'll also find a page called Gams Around Town with lots of photos you haven't seen before...along with all the links to all my other social networks...including...TWITTER!
Yes, darlings...it's true, I've been talked, teased and tortured into tweeting, so please get in there and follow me...follow...follooooowww...!!! I don't say much yet, but that's only because I'm still trying to figure the damn thing out! Did I mention I was tech-challenged? I think I did.

Oh, and of course you'll find the link to my PINTEREST pages...hundreds of pins...the bounty of many wasted hours liking, following, googling and repinning...

Have you discovered my latest TUMBLR...'Dear Gams'?? If you're having a midlife crisis and/or are menopausally challenged, I'm doling out free advice! Please visit and be inspired to ask me a burning question of your own!!

I'm starting all sorts of new projects lately, so stay tuned for more, darlings! Mwahhhh!

The Full Phyllis

It's been six months now since we've lost one of my absolute idols...Phyllis Diller...someone who's always been on my list of 'people living-or-dead I'd like to have over for dinner', and still is! And not just for her pretty face, bad wig and infectious cackle...but because she's a comedy pioneer, a legend and just an amazing person all the way around!

So, if you love her too, and you have an hour to spare, I suggest you take that time to watch this HBO special from 1977! The hilarious Miss Diller pulls out all the stops on this one...not only do you get to hear all her favorite gags, but she also performs two piano pieces at the end of the program! I loved it from start to finish, and I know you will, too! Enjoy, darlings!

Anatomy of An Act

Hard to believe it's been 5 years since I graduated from Miss Indigo Blue's Academy of Burlesque...and so much has happened in those 5 years...I realized my dream of being crowned Belltown Betty, I produced my own one-woman show, and I celebrated my 20,000th day alive! So, to commemorate my anniversary as the one-and-only Gams Galore, I thought it would be fun to put together an actual burlesque strip routine, which I performed in last Friday night's Academy of Burlesque Alumni Show - The Beginning of the End!

I told the story of my BLONDE AMBITION...how I went from blah to blonde...from glum to glam...from frumpy to faboo...simply by putting on my beloved bad wig!

I gotta tell ya, kidz...singing is sooo much easier with sooo much less room for error! And much less preparation, too, I might add. Case in point are these notes I made while creating my act. Note how they start off nice, neat and well-organized...

...still looking pretty tidy and sensible...

...then things get a little more complicated...

Oops! Then the shit make no sense at all!!

I'm pleased to announce that it all came off without a hitch...literally and figuratively! And since every burlesque strip routine calls for an appropriate pair o' pasties for a final 'reveal', I created these beauties for my boobies! Sparkly!

Host Post

Hello my darling darlings! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with food, fun and friends! As for me, I enjoyed my own annual tradition of going out for a couple pints of the strongest (around 9% alcohol!) seasonal ale around town, Maritime's Jolly Roger... and some good ol' fashioned fish and chips!

So while I was noshing away on my untraditional fishy feast, it occured to me that I never told y'all about my latest gig! For the last few months I've been the 'official' show host, aka Mistress of Ceremonies,  for Chameleon Productions...a fabulous troupe of burlesque and bellydance performers who put together a show every month at a local bar known as Dante's... a favorite U of W frat hangout since the 60's!

I just so happen to have a video from September's themed show, 'Mix It Up!' ...why don't you 'check it out'?

Next month is an Xmas theme, of course...entitled 'Tis The Season... and guess who got to design the poster??

Good Housekeeping

Remember my pink trompe-l'œil apron? It's turning out to be a real workhorse! I've worn it on several occasions and it's always such a hit that I dared to wear it again last month in my role as housekeeping hostess of Vacancy: A Burlesque Tale of Holiday Travel. I recently received these pictures from the show, and naturally assumed you'd enjoy seeing the apron in action!!

Do note, if you will, darlings, my long-line Playtex Living Gloves, size S, in a stunning shade of pink! With my trusty duster at hand, I'm ready to go to work!

It's a good thing they have me to pick up empty bottles laying around and...hey...what's so funny?

Oh, I know I look cute now...

...but just watch as I get drunker...

...and drunker...

...and drunker!

I did manage to fool one or two unsuspecting audience members into thinking I was tipsier than I really was! My friends, however, are apparently so used to seeing me be the life of the party, they thought nothing of it.

Many thanks to photographer Ralph Gayle for glorifying the Gams!

Thank You, Jesus!

Holy Snowballs! Here are a few more terrific pics from Sunday's Match Game Re-bar, this time taken by my pal Jackie Kingsbury!

Here I am gettin' Jesus good and juiced up before the show...

Here's my number...see me singing my heart out? Howbout that brand-new Match Game Re-bar sign??

Incoming!! Here I am, throwing a direct hit...right to the ol' bean! What an arm!

Thank God Jesus is cool! Thank you, Jesus! You da Man!

Oh, dear...that's me reprimanding Sida Gravy! You can probably tell, Sida is a witty and charismatic guest, but...holy shit! What a mess!

And this pretty much sums it all up...

Strange Fruit

Leave it to Paula the Swedish Housewife to bring legendary Joey Arias to our little corner of the world! Joey, along with accompanist Eliot Douglass, will be channelling Billie Holiday in Strange Fruit this Tuesday night at Seattle's Triple Door...and if I have my way, I'll be seated in the front row with a perfect view and a Wild Ginger Martini close at hand!

Here's one of the numbers from last year's Strange Fruit, produced by none other than Deirdre Timmons, creator of A Wink and A Smile!

Stage Whiskers

For your eyes only, darlings! Presenting my act from last month's Prowling for PAWS show...which I'm thrilled to tell you raised over $2000 to help our fuzzy friends! No, really! I'm not lion!!

Here I'm discussing the importance of a well-fitting brassiere...

...if only I could find one...

...or an appropriate substitute...

...like cats-eye pasties!!

Look at 'em glow! I was amazed to find that my tits could actually see in the dark!

Many thanks to ELD Images for these great shots...and a big mwah to Iva Handfull!

Downtown In Belltown!

Get ready for Gams in action!! Thanks to Mr. Belltown contestant The Great Brendinni, I can now share a special clip from the Pageant with you! Here I am performing my version of Petula Clark's 'Downtown', which I rewrote as a tribute to one of my favorite places to drink in the world...a place that's been near and dear to my heart and my hangovers for over 30 years now...Seattle's fabulous Belltown!

Don't forget to check Brendinni's related Belltown Pageant videos!

I've Got Gams!

Well, fans, here it is...the closest you're going to get to an actual video of me performing my theme song (to the tune of *One* from A Chorus Line) at the Academy of Burlesque Alumni Show a few weeks ago!

Anyway, I mostly want you to take note of the awesome corset I made (it was worn with a break-away gold skirt which had already broken-away by this time) and...my tophat! I made this out of a cheapo ($8) felt hat, purchased from the costume store, then accented it (via my trusty glue-gun) with sequins and faux gold-leafed cardboard letters to spell out the goldenest GAMS you ever got a gander at!

If you are sorry to miss my singing don't feel bad...most of the audience missed it too! Seeing as how my geedee microphone was on the fritz, no one heard me except half the front row...I understand they just LOVED it!!! Ah, well...that's showbiz! xo
