The Swedish Housewife

Friends, it's been just about a year since your pal Gams donned her bad wig and began singing her heart out, bringing happiness to millions...thousands? Okay, dozens...but who's counting? Seriously, folks...I feel very fortunate. Over this last year I've gotten to serenade audiences in Seattle, Portland and LA...I've been intro'd by El Vez and taken curtain calls alongside the luscious Catherine D'Lish. I've mingled with international stars like Joey Arias...imagine moi amongst all that fabulousness and glamour...sigh!

So, how'd I get so lucky? I can attribute these blissful brushes with celebrity to that singular sensationalist, the gal that puts the dish in Swedish...Paula The Swedish Housewife!

PTSHW and I got acquainted during the film festivals and shows surrounding the premieres of A Wink and A Smile, and she's been nice enough to give me some encouragement since then, including putting me in her Celebration of She last April at Seattle's Triple Door...what a thrill that was!

Not just any burlesque icon, Paula, as producer, really knows how to put on a show! This season The Swedish Housewife presents The Gilded Stage 2010, featuring amazing performers like Justin Bond, Immodesty Blaize, Joey Arias and Bambi the Mermaid, as well as the 4th unbelievable House of Thee Unholy...burlesque Led Zeppelin! Sooo...if you're planning a visit to our "little fishing village", as Paula puts it, be sure to check the Triple Door calender to see if you can catch one of her eye-poppin' extravaganzas!

As luck would have it, I happened to find this terrific clip of PTSHW bumpin' and grindin' out the History of the Beat, with the help of Michael Musburger on drums. Classic burly-q at its best!
